Related Services

The IDEA provides for more than special education services. Some students require additional, related services so that the special education will be successful.

The district contracts with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to provide related services in all district buildings, wherever the need is documented by a student's IEP:

  • Occupational therapy (OT)
  • Physical therapy (PT)
  • Speech and language therapy
  • Assistive technology
  • Vision or hearing consultation
  • Orientation and mobility
  • Behavior management consultation
  • Aide support
  • Social worker support
  • School nurse support
  • Parent information/training

The district also emphasizes transition to work activities, utilizing job trainers and job coaches.

The district's Transition Coordinator is Mrs. Brandy Pollock. Mrs. Pollock can be contacted at [email protected].

In addition to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, the district partners with other community agencies that serve the needs of all students, including students with disabilities on a non-discriminatory basis:

Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence offers Student Assistance Program (SAP) evaluations and services concerning drug and alcohol abuse.

The Penn Foundation (provides SAP evaluations and services involving mental health issues. The PF also provides "wrap-around" MH services to district students with severe behavioral issues.

Lakeside Education Services partners with the district, St. Luke's Hospital, and the YMCA to operate the Parenting Center.

The Peace Center provides extensive peer mediation training to district students and staff.
