The Quakertown Community School District’s 21st Century Learning Initiative provides students the opportunity to borrow a district-owned Chromebook/laptop computer for use during and after school hours. Students who select this option:
May pay a $25.00 non-refundable Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) fee each year to cover damages that may occur while in the possession of the student. This fee will also provide the student the option to keep the device at the end of their senior year. (Please see School Board approved requirements listed on the technology website)
Understand that the annual ADP fee will cover the following:
o Unintentional dropping of the device
o Liquid spills
o Power surges
o Natural disasters
Understand that any damages that occur to district-owned equipment due to the student’s negligence may result in financial accountability on the part of the student. Such damages may include:
o Damage caused as a result of horseplay in the vicinity of the device
o Damage caused by storing items in the carrying case other than an AC adapter and USB memory stick (e.g. pens, pencils, books, folders, calculators, etc.)
o Damage caused by excessive heat (Device must be stored in a climate controlled environment)
o Theft of the device
o Missing or lost device
o Lost or damaged power adapters are not covered under ADP
Lost or stolen equipment may result in prorated financial accountability.
ADP payment of $25 per student must be received by the Technology Department no later than 9/01/22 to opt in for the 2022-2023 school year. There will be no other opportunity to enroll in the ADP program after that. Checks can be made payable to Quakertown Community School District and can be mailed or dropped off at the District Office:
