The Foundation provides funding for programs that will supplement educational experiences for students.
Much of our funding support is provides through Mini-Grants provided to teachers when requested for materials and activities to supplement classroom programs.
Priority areas for the QCEF are:
- Alumni Association
- Arts Support
- Business Skills and Entrepreneurship
- Civics Education
- STEM Education
Our service to alumni includes sponsorship of the "Wall of Fame" program at QCHS. We have also published two volumes of the "History of QCSD" to 1966 and researched and funded plaque honoring Quakertown HS graduates killed in service.
In the arts, we are focusing on both the performing and visual arts. We sponsor the biennial "Artist in Residence" program, most recently with pianist Leon Bates to afford opportunities to QCSD students. The QCEF also facilitated the loan of Provincetown Boats by Walter Baum to Michener Art Museum for display.
In the area of business skills and entrepreneurship, we are developing a partnership with the Upper Bucks Technical School's existing collaborative program with BCCC & Bloomsburg University where students are trained in the technical aspects of a trade and how to run a business as an independent contractor.
The QCEF has long sponsored the Anna Neamand Lecture Series which brings in outside speakers to interact with students and provide exposure to other cultures and ideas.
We are supporting the QCSD's efforts in STEM education by identifying and supplying materials for real-world experiments as well as bringing in practicing scientists as guest speakers to inspire students to pursue STEM careers.
