QCSD held its convocation Wednesday as preparation continues for the arrival of students on Monday.
Quakertown Community School District teachers and staff were welcomed back to school Wednesday as the district prepares for the arrival of students from summer vacation on Monday, August 29.
Superintendent Dr. Bill Harner, Ryan Wieand, president of the Quakertown Community Education Association, Lori Moyer, president of the Quakertown Educational Support Personnel Association, and Dennis Pfleiger, president of St. Luke’s University Health Network Quakertown campus, each spoke to QCSD employees in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.
Dr. Harner, who thanked everyone for returning for another year, acknowledged teachers with service of more than 30 years, including Bridget Beynon-Mortimer, Maureen Cloonan-Greenawalt, Jacki Clymer, Mary Kathryn Cornish, Rachel Demchick, Susan Goodwin, Theresa Kelly, Joann Klee, Rebecca Leiby, Patricia O’Neill, Kathryn Panny, Frank Parker, Daniel Seislove, Audrey Waddell, Alaina Wert, and Jeff Wolfinger.
“There is overwhelming evidence that what you all are doing collectively is making a huge difference in the lives of young people,” Dr. Harner said.
