Vaping has become a major concern for us in the Quakertown Community School District, as it is taking lives and causing serious illnesses to teenagers across the country. To better educate students, QCSD is closely looking at our curriculum for when to introduce and further discuss the harm that comes from vaping and using illegal drugs.
On November 1, 2019 the district filed a lawsuit against JUUL Labs, Inc., one week after the School Board unanimously adopted a resolution to authorize the law firm of Begley Carlin & Mandio and Wagstaff & Cartmell to initiate litigation against companies that manufacture and market electronic-cigarettes and vaping products.
Superintendent Dr. Bill Harner explained to TV news stations the dangers of teen vaping: CBS3, FOX29, Good Day Philadelphia, NBC10, WFMZ Channel 69.
It's important that parents have conversations with their student(s) about the dangers associated with vaping. We hope the information on these pages will help provide you with resources.
