Quakertown Magisterial Justice C. Robert Roth had some important words of advice for students in the Sixth Grade Center Thursday: "Make good decisions everyday. That's the most important thing."
Roth, a district judge since 1992, spent much of the school day in the library, speaking with the Social Studies classes about government structure, focusing on the judicial system.
However, before he departed, he wanted to leave the youngsters with some sound advice. He warned them about drugs, alcohol, tobacco and bullying.
"Heroin is a scary situation," the judge said. "It is scary because young people are dying."
Alcohol is illegal under the age of 21, and tobacco is a "killer."
And if you've ever been bullied and don't like it, don't do it to someone else. "Treat people the way you want to be treated," he said.
Perhaps someone's most important decision, Roth said, is who they choose to be their friends.
"Make sure you choose the right people," he concluded.
