Good afternoon!
I was hoping to not have to send this letter, at least not before Thanksgiving. This week, we were notified of multiple positive COVID-19 cases at Pfaff Elementary School within a 4-day period. There are possible links between cases, and as a result, Pfaff Elementary School will be closed for live instruction beginning tomorrow, November 18, 2020 for 3 school days (5 days in total) in accordance with PDE guidance for multiple cases reported within a building. Barring additional positive case reports or other information, live instruction will resume at Pfaff on Monday, November 23, 2020. All instruction will be virtual on November 18, 19, and 20, 2020. I am sorry for the inconvenience this causes for families. Due to privacy issues, we are unable to share more detailed information. As a reminder, if your child is at PFaff ES and is determined to be a close contact, you will receive notification from Principal Garger separately.
Some of you may be asking why has the high school remained open following multiple COVID-19 cases. Those cases were all unrelated and not all within a 14-day period, and therefore included no community spread. There is no change to reopening all QCSD secondary schools to live 5 days a week instruction tomorrow, November 18th.
As you are likely aware, everyday each of our buildings undergoes a thorough sanitizing. Pfaff ES will receive an additional deep cleaning. Please click here for our district-wide cleaning and sanitizing plan.
I’d like to thank you for your support as we are all challenged during this pandemic. And thank you for continuing to give your children the daily screening before they head to school. Our nurses tell me it helps immensely.
