Regular start, early dismissal Wednesday

Regular start, early dismissal Wednesday
Posted on 12/15/2020

Greetings QCSD families! We’re back as promised after conferring with my fellow Upper Bucks County superintendents and the Bucks County Federal Emergency Management Agency about the forecasted snowstorm.

Unless you hear from me first thing in the morning (around 5 a.m.), here’s the plan for Wednesday, December 16th: All schools in QCSD will be starting at their regular times and we will have an early dismissal. The release times are as follows:

  •  High school, 11:30 a.m.
  • Middle schools, 12:10 p.m.
  •  Elementary schools, 1 p.m.

AM Kindergarten will have its full-day schedule, with regular pick-up. There is no PM Kindergarten. Afternoon classes at the Upper Bucks County Technical School have been canceled.

Breakfast service will take place as usual. High school students will have the grab-and-go lunches. For virtual students, meals will be available for pickup from 11:15 to 12:15 at the high school’s 5th Street location. Students at Strayer and the Sixth Grade Center will have grab-and-go ready for dismissal. Elementary students will eat their lunch in the classroom or have a grab-and-go lunch.

All district offices will open at the regular time.

As I mentioned in the earlier email today, with the winter upon us, it is important that both students and staff are prepared to transition to virtual learning quickly. Fortunately, because of the hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff and the foresight of our School Board and Administration, QCSD is well-positioned for continuous learning during these weather emergencies because of our enhanced synchronous instruction model. Stay tuned for further updates from your principal(s).

Again, we will be in contact in the morning if we must cancel school. Thanks for taking the time to read this important message, and please stay safe and warm.
